Happy Easter and Happy 60th Birthday

This is the 1st time that I can remember that Easter fell on my birthday. I was suppose to work but was canceled for the whole shift which is my gift to myself. We went to Easter church service and then to lunch. It was 60 years ago to today in Omaha, Nebraska at 2:07pm that my parents have their 1st child and my brother Randy 2 years later. It is hard to believe that I'm 60 years old. I'm going to get to messy but I have a wonderful life and don't have any regards. I love to celebrate my birthday. I'm going to celebrate my 60th birthday by going to Paducah, KY for the American Quilt Society Quilt Show and in Nov to the Houston International Quilt Show. I LOVE QUILTING. It has been 9 years ago that I got hooked. I wish my Mom could see my quilts. She would have loved them. Happy Birthday!!

The Quilt Show open with over 200 quilts. I had a great time being a hostess from 9-12. Wayne came over to see the show and take some pictures of my quilt and me. I took a lunch break and then looked and took pictures of some of the quilts. There were alot of beautiful quilts. I was alittle disappointed that I didn't get and award but was glad to have a quilt in the show. It will interesting to see the comments when I get it back on Saturday. Mid Valley Quilt Guild Quilt Show "Jewels of the Valley"

Today is the first day of our biennial quilt show at the Polk County Fairgrounds. There are over 200 quilts displayed with 24 vendors. I worked this morning from 9-12 as a hostess(white gloves). It was fun to see the quilts and enjoy the people. Wayne came over to look at the quilts and take a picture of me and my quilt. I had my quilt judged but didn't win an award. I will anxious to see what they wrote about the quilt. I stayed to have a lite lunch and then to look and take pictures of the quilts. I looked at the vendors but only brought 6 coffee potholders for our the quilt project. I will post some of the pictures of the quilt show later. The show runs for 3 days. The show had alot of beautiful quilts.

Quilting Projects

I have been working on several projects from Febr-April. I loved the Valentine's fabric and made a table runner for next year. It is from a pattern from Fons&Porter Love of Quilting Jan/Febr 2009 called Love Song. It made a cute spring table runner from a pattern in F&P Easy Quilting Spring 2011. I have to put buttons on it which I learned how to do on my sewing machine. I finished 2 cute wall hangings to cover a crack on the wall in our bedroom. The pattern was in F&P Easy Quilting Summer 2011 called Tweet Others with Kindness. This week is going to be very busy with our Mid Valley Quilt Show this Thur-Sat(April 21-23). I have my quilt called Old Hawaii in the show to be judged. I'm working as a hostess(white glove) from 9-12 on Wednesday. It is fun to talk to everyone and show the backs of the quilts. I celebrate my 60th birthday on April 24. My birthday present is going to Paducah for the AQS Quilt show. My supportive quilt husband is going with me. We leave on April 26-30 and then have fun in Nashville from May 1-3(home on May 4). I'm excited to see the Quilt show and take a few classes. We will visit a Marion.KY which is a Amish community.
