Diane's 1st Quilt

My friend, Diane made her 1st quilt and I was honored to quilt it for her. Paige and I got her started in quilting but she has been sewing for a long time. I don't know the name of the pattern or book. I used Superior Thread King Tut called "Joesph's Coat" and Anne Bright quilt design called " Stipple Flower". She will pick it up tomorrow.

Happy Summer

It is great that summer arrived on June 21 but I'm way behind on my blogging. I can't believe that next Friday is the 4th of July. I have finished 2 quilts this month for my friends, Paige and Diane. Paige finished her Chicken Quilt that she started on the Winter Retreat this past January. It is a pattern from Karla Alexander called "Junk Jewelry". I used Superior Thread King Tut called "Autumn Days and used Anne Bright design called "Cotton Candy" and "Coral Meander".

Vintage Trailer Quilt

In March, I made my sister-in-law a lap size quilt with Elizabeth Studio fabric with vintage trailer on it. She had gotten a cute vintage trailer in March. I love the fabric. I wanted to give it to her when they can out in May. I finally gave it to her 2 weeks ago and she loved it. I used Anne Bright design called "Cotton Candy" with Superior Thread King Tut called "Autumn Days".

Home Machine Quilt Show

Next week, I will fly to Salt Lake City to attend the Home Machine Quilt Show. I have never been to this show so excited to take a few classes and enjoy the Quilt Show/vendors which I have 2 quilts in the show. This is the first time I have entered a judged major quilt show out of state. I have a wonderful friend, Cindy that I meet when I attended MQX several years ago from Salt Lake area. We will meet up with each other on Thursday. I leave May 7 and back home on May 11. I'm taking 3 classes and will take the bus tour to see the Mormon Tabernacle choir rehearsal on Thursday night. I have a room mate on Thurs and Fri coming from Rusk, Texas. I will meet up with her at the show on Thursday. It will be great to see Cindy and excited about the Show. Happy May Day

HAPPY HAPPY MAY!! I finished a quilt last month which was a pattern from Karla Alexander called " Giant Rail Waves". I call it "Wild and Crazy". I used Dianne Springer fabric which is wild. I used a pattern from Wildflower Quilting design called "Playful" with Superior Thread King Tut called "Joesph Coat". I didn't have the binding on it when I took the pictures. I will take more pictures later with the binding on it.

Customer Quilt

I had a lady call to quilt 2 quilt tops that her aunt made several years ago. The quilt size was 87x100 and I used Anne Bright Design called Cotton Candy with Superior Thread King Tut called Flax. I will do the second quilt next month. Here are a few pictures of the finished quilt which I quilted and did the binding on it.

Todd's Modern Quilt

My friend, Paige made a beautiful modern quilt for her nephew, Todd. She found a pattern in a magazine and will ask her next time I see her. I love the colors she picked out. We picked out a pattern from Anne Bright Designs called Argyle and used Superior Thread King Tut Brandywine. The pattern name is "Abacus" by Bev Getschel which appeared in Best Modern Quilts 2014. Here are some of my pictures after quilting it.

Happy Happy Day Part 2

Happy Happy Day

It is Happy Day and what makes me HAPPY is QUILTING!! I was asked by the college friend, Jan to make a quilt(wall hanging) with frogs in it which she collects anything. I found a cute fabric by Timeless Treasures with frogs on it. She lives in Texas so mailed it to her today.I used Anne Bright design Cotton Candy and Superior thread King Tut Autumn Days. Happy Day

Today is Happy Day and what makes me HAPPY is QUILTING!!! Last Saturday, it was International Quilting Day which I celebrated with my friend, Paige by going to EE Schencks Trends in Portland. It is the wholesale business which sells quilting fabric, books, patterns, notions, batting etc. We had a great day of shopping. I finished a quilt that I started at the Winter retreat in January. The pattern is called Savanna by Karla Alexander. I used Anne Bright design called Flamingo Sunset with Superior thread King Tut Cleopatra. I'm going to enter this quilt at the Home Machine Quilting Show in Salt Lake this May. I'm attending this Quilt Show for the first time. Here are a few pictures of the quilt.

Desert Sunset

I finished a quilt top in November 2013 from a pattern called Desert Sunset. It was in the magazine Quilting Quickly Missouri Star Quilt Co. I finished the quilting on it in February. I used Anne Bright design Luna with my favorite thread Superior King Tut Cleopatra. I love this color thread and have used it in several quilts. I took some pictures of it today on the front deck.
