2013 Happy New's Year's Eve

It is time to say goodbye to 2013 and welcome New Year 2014. It has been a great year for my love of quilting. I really enjoy blogging about my quilt projects. I made a beautiful table runner which I didn't show pictures of it. I love the fabric and took a pattern out of the Quiltmaker Quilt Blocks. I used a Anne Bright design called Flamingo Sunset. Here are pictures.

Merry Christmas 2013

I love Christmas. It is a special time of the year with a beautiful tree, lights and decorations. It is fun to see the outdoor lights which we put up every year. We always take a ride to look at the lights on other people's place. It is a time of family and friends. We went to Christmas Eve service last night to celebrate the birth of the Prince of Peace. I miss my parents alot during Christmas. I have fond memories of Christmas's of the past. I did make a Christmas quilt for next year. Here are a few pictures of it.

River City Quilt Show Nov 2013 in Sacramento

Happy December

Boy last month flew by so fast that I didn't get one blog written for November. I went to visit with my brother Randy and my sister-in-law Mary in CA from Nov 6-17. I helped Mary after having foot surgery. It was great to see them and get to sew with Mary in her quilt studio. We went to her guild quilt show which was fun. I have a few pictures of the River City Quilt Show form Sacramento. Mary had 3
quilts entered but not juried this year. She won best of show last year for her The Red Chair. I got home and got a bad cold that has lasted over 2 weeks. I did get 3 quilt tops started and finished them at home. I have one of the tops on the quilt machine that I made for our 5th wheel(camping). Here are a few pictures of the River City Quilt Show.

Strawberry Hill Quilt

Strawberry Hill Quilt

I have wanted to make my sister-in-law a quilt for a long time. This was the perfect time to make a quilt for her because she needed a comfort lap quilt made with love from her family. I found a postcard pattern called Blueberry Hill made by Villa Rosa Designs and had a jelly roll of batiks called Watermelon. I decided to call the quilt Strawberry Hill. I used a Anne Bright design called Cotton Candy and thread was Superior Thread King Tut called Harem. I found the border fabric at Center Diamond Quilt store in Cannon Beach, OR. It matched a fabric in the quilt. I'm going to give the quilt to her when she comes out here the week of Thanksgiving. She didn't want to see it until then and said it was ok to post on my blogs. I'm excited to give it to her next month. Here are pictures of the quilt.

Fall Table Topper

I made a table topper for my table in the living room. I used a pattern called Center Stage by Pieced Tree Patterns. I have several fall fabrics so made it with the pumpkins/vines. I love the colors in it. It is great that I can put table toppers and runners on my quilt machine. Here are a few pictures of it.

Last Sat, I went to the Santiam Quilt Show in Lebanon. My friend, Martha was the featured quilter. We meet thru our quilting blogs. We are RN and our husbands are retired teachers. Martha is a very talented quilter and uses her domestic machine to quilt. I really enjoyed the show and seeing Martha. Here are a few pictures of her display at the show:

Riley Blake "Priscilla" by Lila Tueller

I love anything with or made with "Priscilla". Riley Blake Fabric came out this June with a fabric called "Priscilla" which was design by Lila Tueller. I saw on Lila BlogSpot that she was having a giveaway of a charm pack of "Priscilla" fabric. The person that won it never Emailed her back so I asked if she was going to draw another name. She decided to give it to me since my name was Priscilla. I was so excited to get it from her. I made a quilt and adapted a pattern that I saw in Fons and Porter Quilting Quickly. I found more fabric online since I haven't found any in the quilt stores here. Here are pictures of my "Priscilla" Quilt.

Windfall Quilt

This is the quilt I entered into the Oregon State Fair called Windfall. It is a pattern from Karla Alexander.

Oregon State Fair Quilt Walk

I have been on a committee for the Oregon State Fair since Nov for Quilting. The State Fair wanted to improve the Creative Living section since it was a failure last year. A group of quilters mainly from the Mid Valley Quilt Guild got together to get the Quilt Walk back for this year show. The 2013 Oregon State Fair started on August 23-Sept2. We have the Quilt Walk back with about 200 quilts displayed. I went over to the fair yesterday to see the Walk and check out the fair. It is always HOT when I go to the fair but yesterday it was cool and rainy. It was nice to have cool weather. I entered a quilt in the fair and was HAPPY to see I won a 2nd place ribbon. I worked today as a white glove volunteer from 10-2. Here are some pictures of my quilt and the Quilt Walk. Our guild was doing the demo yesterday and today.

Paige's King Size Quilt

Last week, I finished my 1st king size quilt for my friend, Paige. It is a wedding quilt for her daughter and son-in-law. The fabric was heavier like tablecloth. The pattern was called Alex by Anne Bright designs E2E with Superior Thread King Tut Sandstorm. It turned out super and the pattern was perfect for the fabric. It was big and heavy so was unable to take a picture of it outside. I did get good pictures of it on the quilt frame. Here are a few pictures:
