International Quilt Market Spring 2013 Portland
A week ago today, I went to the International Quilt Market in Portland with my friends Paige and Cindy. Cindy and I meet at MQX West last Oct. She is from Utah and has family in Keizer. It was great to see her and go to Quilt market with Paige and me. We went over to EE Schnecks before the market to get my new Accuquilt fabric cutter. I'm excited to have the 2 fabric cutters(Baby) and several dies. We arrived to market at 9:15 and left for home at 3:30. It is amazing all the fabric, pattern, books notions etc in the quilting world. I was able to talk to Accuquilt about my new fabric cutter and Pfaff about my quilt machine. I love all the new fabric lines at the different companies like Moda, Timeless Treasure, Blank and Riley Blake to name a few of them. Riley Blake has a new line out in June called Priscilla. There were quilts on display too.
I really enjoyed this Quilt Market because it was exciting to see what makes up this huge business of Quilting. Here are a few pictures of Quilt Market 2013.

Quilt Market 2013
The Spring Quilt Market is in Portland from May 17-19. I'm going to tomorrow with my friends Paige and Cindy from Utah. There are 2 Quilt Markets not open to the public in the Spring which is in different cities each year and Fall in Houston. The last time Spring Market was in Portland was May 2008. Paige and I went which was a great experience to see the "Quilting World". There are exhibitors showing fabric, books, patterns, notions, sewing/quilting machine etc.
This will be a different Market for me because I have my own quilting business. It will be exciting to see what is new in the quilting world. It will be fun to go with my friends, Paige and Cindy. I will post pictures of the Spring Quilt Market in the next few days.

Mid Valley Quilt Show
Last month(April 25-27) was our biannual Quilt Show at the Polk County Fair grounds. The weather was fabulous with sunny and temp in the upper 70's. We had over 200 quilts and a lot of vendors. I had entered 2 art quilts(juried) and 1 wall hanging in the show. I worked on Thurs and Fri on hospitality from 9-12. It looked like a great turn out both days I worked. I'm going to the monthly board meeting tonight so will find out early about the Quilt Show.
I was asked to be the secretary for the guild from July 2013-July 20014. The elections are this month.
I will post a few of the Mid Valley Quilt Show pictures.
