Happy Birthday

Today is my birthday 2012. I was born on April 24,1951 at 2:05 pm in Omaha, Nebraska at Clarkson Hospital. My parents were Russell and Frances Upham. I have a brother Randy that was born on October 29,1953. I have always love having my birthday in the spring with all the flowers and trees blooming. I love to celebrate my birthday. I'm thankful to be happy and healthy every year. I have a wonderful family and friends in my life. I'm love being a quilter. I wish I could show my Mom all the quilts that I have made since learning how to quilt in 2002. I can be creative with fabric. Today I went to Boesma's in Mc Minnville and brought 4 different fabrics for 25% off for my birthday. Last week, I went to Greenbaum's in Salem and brought several patterns and 2 batiks. Next week, we are driving to see my brother,Randy and sister-in-law,Mary for a week. Marys's B-day is April 27 and she is a quilter. She got me started thinking about learning how to quilt. Here are a few pictures of me to celebrate my life now.

Happy Easter

Yesterday was Easter. I asked for 1st call/cancel for the whole day. I didn't get a call in the morning so went to work. They had made a mistake and said I could go home on call. I went home and enjoyed the beautiful sunrise, spring flowers and new baby lambs playing. I enjoyed the day relaxing. I wanted to go to church but it was hard when you're on call. I was put on call for the rest of the shift. I finished putting on the border on my Hokey Pokey quilt. I had all the windows open because it was a sunny and warm day(70 degrees) It was the first nice warm day in months. Our neighbors Charlie and Marilyn live up the hill from our house. I saw her working outside and going up the hill on the side of the house. She was up there for a while and I decided to get on the computer. I saw an ambulance drive by and immediately got up to see where it was going to and it pulled into Charlie and Marilyn's driveway. I went outside to tell Wayne and then the fire dept/ sheriff were there too. Long story short our neighbor Charlie had passed away on the hill. He had a history of heart disease(triple bypass surgery about 11yrs ago). He was 72 years old and a great and sweet guy. He will be missed and it will be hard on his wife, Marilyn. It sure makes you appreciate your family and friends and that life is to short. You need to live everyday to fullness and enjoy this beautiful world that God made for us to enjoy.

April Fools Day

I love April because it feels and looks like spring. It has been a very wet and cool spring for us. March was the wettest month on record which started in 1940's. It looks like April is starting wet for this week. The flowers and flowering bushes are coming out in beautiful colors of purple, coral, pink and yellow. April is my birthday month. I love getting all the birthday specials in the quilt stores and resturants.
I finished a cute McKenna Ryan wall hanging called Home Tweet Home "High Wrent". I will put it up on the wall in our bedroom.
I finished piecing a lap/twin size quilt called Hokey Pokey by A Quilters Dream. It is really cute with browns and yellows in it.
I'm going to get a practice quilt put on the Pfaff 18.8 this week so I can practice free motion. I will start on another project this week.
Here our a few pictures of the McKenna Ryan. Happy Quilting!!
